Today is our last morning at the village. I woke up early and enjoyed one final sunrise, one final morning of watching the world awaken. We ate breakfast and packed our things. “Mama Soca” got us the local tuk tuk driver. As I walked downstairs I couldn’t find my shoes…turns out Soca was giggling a few feet away, she had stolen them as her farewell joke. She’s so silly, I love my Cambodian mother. Some of the students came to say goodbye. We hugged them and wished them well. We said bye to the dog Tiger, to Sophol, and to Soca. Chiro Village was a place of absolute magic. I hope to return one day.
